Information: When storing the van or leaving it standing for a while put old stockings over the ensuite and kitchen waste outlets and secure in place with rubber bands or string so bugs do not enter when they are searching for a new home.

The post We had a terrific adventure thru the Simpson & Hay River Rd with 6 other vehicles. 2 LC's, Mazda BT50, Nissan Navara & Patrol, L Rover and the Chev.
Tough going for the Chev at times, a few snatch backs and reruns and only one winch on top of a dune. Power sometimes helps!
Fantastic country, very green & lush
When we retrieved the Van from Pt Augusta we headed to Innaminka to the Cullymurra waterhole. The day we were to leave the heavens opened the night before and all the next day delivering 60mm. Interesting trip out 4 days later. We took another van out with us but he did not make one hole, but thanks to the BT and Chev we gave some assistance.

Mobi Condo replied to the question
Good to see you got out ok - we met you at Farina on our way to cross the Simpson.
Saw another BT in at Dalhousie SPrings, but they took off too early for us to say G'day.
Met with a crew who had Dodge Ram who tried to cross via the French line but came back and then tried the way we went, via the Rigg Road etc (one of the longer ways).
Reckon the Dodge Ram still would have trouble east of Lake Tamblyn & QAA tline etc.
We got the dump of rain as we camped at a spot a few K Nth of Poeppels Crnr and thus a very wet sloopy run from there to Birdsville where we were delayed two more days due to the road south (Birdsville Track) being closed.
Got our history bit on the Cooper Creek ferry though, after two wet, muddy, slippery days of travel and then the Frome Creek came down and was at 80cm as we crossed that a week ago!
Was a superb trip, but we sure missed the comforts of Mobi!
