Information
Gallagher Point, a designated Queensland Recreation Area, is about 3km north from White Patch on Bribie Island's muddy western foreshore, and Ranger Headquarters. There are 6 large numbered and shady sites with established fire pits, but no other facilities. Usual National Park rules apply (no generators, no pets and firewood restrictions).
Access is north of White Patch Esplanade on a reasonably sandy track, suitable for 4WDs and smaller self-contained Caravans and Camper Trailers. A short walk west to the foreshore offers views over Pumistone Passage towards the Glass House Mountains and Toorbul, usually spectacular at sunset. Mosquitoes and midges can create a problem, so be prepared.
Before camping in the Recreation Area, you must obtain and have displayed both a Camping Permit and a Vehicle Access Permit.
