Iridescent red and green flowers make Mangles Kangaroo Paw one of Australia's most recognised wildflowers. It is a rhizotomous perennial with long, grey-green linear leaves up to 60 cm long.
Low growing in sandy/gravelly soil. Rich rusty-orange and yellow colouring.
A small perennial herb with erect green-yellow leaves, occurring with a height between 0.2 to 1.8 metres. The leaves are strap-like, between 200 and 500 mm long,

A perennial herb to one meter high. Although it is not a grass, it has a grass-like appearance, with strap-like, narrow, leathery leaves arising from the base of the plant.
Velvety crimson flower heads are a striking sight in the bush or along roadsides. Tufted plant up to 1m tall when flowering. Leaves are strap-like and erect, to about 40cm.

A tufted herb with wiry strap-like leaves about 30cm long. Spreads by rhizomes. Flowers are slightly hairy, tubular, 2-3cm long, arranged on spikes that are shorter than the leaves.
Small tufted perennial with pointed grass-like leaves. About 25cm tall. Common growing in sand among heath.
