Awning Stains

The grey canvas awning can get quite dirty from bulldust, tree sap etc and it is very difficult to clean.
A good preventative is to saturate the awning with a proprietary canvas dressing, sometimes called canvas waterproofing. It is available from most canvas goods shops, camp shops etc.
If the awning has never been wet you should thoroughly wet and dry the canvas before applying the dressing.
Once applied the dressing is undedectable but rain will bead on the surface and dust does not penetrate the fabric fibres.
