I saw a picture of an F250 with extendable mirrors for towing. Anyone got any information about these? Turist, do you have a set on your Effie? Do they extend wide enough for towing with the BT? Angie

Angie the F250 is "sort of wide enough" in that you can see most of the traffic behind.
But it is not wide enough to see down & along the sides of a nice wide
Bushtracker.
I have imported a set of extendable mirrors from the US as Ford Australia will not supply, even though they had them as an option in the sales literature when I ordered my F250.
The right side mirror fits and works well but the angle on the left mirror is not correct.
I found a company in Melb. that said they can fix and I have sent mirrors to them.
Expectd back in about 10 days so I will post the results then.

Angie some mirror photos in the album.
The extendable mirror is around 50 mm wider than the standard mirror and extends about 75 mm more.

Thanks Turist. they certainly look impressive and less cumbersome than attaching lots of things to the outside of the vehicle and hoping they will stay there with passing road trains etc. Can you send me some details of where you got them from and also cost. And oh yes, the company in Melbourne that can fix them (just in case we go this way). Do they still operate electrically from inside then. And how do you extend them? Angie

The mirror glass is electrically adjusted. The extension is manual.

This will take you to the mirror supplier.
You need the "Telescoping Mirror Kit" , SKU "2C3Z_17696_BAA"
The current price will be there.
I will let you know about the L to R conversion as soon as the mirrors are returned and I know that the job is OK.

PS, Buy them in the Yew Kay, import them tax free as a "for re-export item" and bring them as passenger baggage. Save duty and GST.
PPS. Boys are smart arn't they.
