Okay, so we are still thinking about layouts. does anyone know someone with the fridge down on the back wall corner near the door? I see Graham and Jan have that in their layout and I know the Dawsons have it. But anyone got any comments about feasibility of it being located there? What about weight at the rear of the van? Angie

Angie With the BT ball weight is a real issue. To get ours to 260kg has required much to be added to A frame. Be very wary of putting fridge at rear. Andy

I still like to have the heavy stuff over the axles.
And the rear of the van is the "Bounciest" bit.

Angie - have a look at my paper in Documents re towing stability. Drop me an email if you need further assistance re this.

General answer is keep things that heavy as close to the centre of the van. The 'effect' of weight increases with the square of its distance from the centre of the 'van (or more strictly the centre of mass).

Thanks Collyn, I have read the article and understand what you are saying. I guess I was hoping for a miracle. Trying to keep tall things from preventing air flow around the van. We will move our fridge next to the ensuite on the drivers side and hopefully that should fix the problem. Angie

Only just noticed this thread but I thought that I would add something. I have a ball weight of 295kg. My fridge sits over the axles, as does my pantry and water tanks. Over the A-arm I have the usual 2 spare wheels,2 x 9 kg gas bottles and a 45 kg 3.3 kW generator fully enclosed.
