I would appeciate some recommendation from B/T owners as to who they are insured with. AAMI won't touch vans over $35,000, and the rest that I have contacted want the rear half of the B/T as premium each year. While I'm at it who's the best for insurance for the 4WD, when I'm off the beaten track? - OAMPS seem the best at this stage....suggestions please. Cracker

My BT is insured with CIL (Caravan Insurance Leaders) my excess is $100 and the van is insured for an agreed value at $65,700 for a premium of $693.39 inc GST.
My F250 is insured by TCIS ins brokers which is recommended by the ANFWDC Aust Nat Four Wheel Drive Council. I qualify to use TCIS by being a member of the VKS737 HF Network.
My current agreed value is $87,126 (inc $14,586 of listed accessories) my premium is
$956.85. Excess is $300.
Both of these insurers cover off-road travelling and was the prime reason I went with them. You are right about high value vans ... I think RACQ wanted about $2000 a year because computer pricing couldnt handle anything over $50k. This might have changed now ?

Anthony

We are the same as Anthony and Cindy, The B/T is with CIL and $81,000 cover is just under $800. Having had a claim on CIL they were EXCELLENT to deal with. He even said, you will be a bit shaken up after the accident, I don't want you driving. Just go into town and get a motel and we will pay for it. They paid everything no questions asked and even rang about a month after we picked up van to make sure that we were completely satisfied with the repair work. F250 is the same as Anthony as well, and that includes a windscreen per year as well. No claims so cannot say how they are, but others have told me that they are OK.
