2004 Rally Site - Broken Hill

Here is another suggestion for our 2004 get together. We noticed in the latest edition of the Australian National 4WD Radio Network Inc. Newsletter that the 5th Australian 4WD Gathering will be held at the Broken Hill Racecourse 7 to 9 July 2004. What attracted our attention was '...the new venue is well equipped with toilet facilities and a very large area with 400 powered sites for caravans and camping'. It is planned to limit the maximum number of vehicles to 600! Broken Hill has a lot of interesting things to see and do in the area (opal fields, National Parks, Darling river wetlands, etc.) although judging by Cania gorge all most boggers seem to want to do is loaf around talking during the day and in the evening sit around a fire drinking and eating!
