Hi Having made the tentative decision to buy an effie, this is what I learned from Melbourne City Ford about the Brazilian F-250. Yup, imported from Brazil and very few in the Australia. This dealer is supposedly the largest dealer in Melbourne, and none on the showroom floor and none in the used car lot. They have 3 on order and the one we would consider, silver 4x4 Supercab XLT is set for delivery in Feb 2004. Base price $75,100, snorkel ($650), heavy duty tow bar including wiring+tow ball+load lever ($1085), Carry Boy fully optioned ($4850), freight ($1495), stamp duty ($2080) and registration ($580) totals $85,960. Discounted price: $82,000 + upgrade of tires and extended warranty which we didn't discuss. 1. What am I missing? 2. Recommendations on tire upgrade? 3. Recommendation on after-market "carry boy"? 4. Still need to price 2nd battery, additional fuel tank, tinting, and rust proofing. Anything else? Will now shop the price to see how low is low - looking for more wiggle room! Looking forward to hearing from the F-troop. Cheers, Jay

Jay Ford dealer in Oakleigh had a 2002 XLT 7.3 (think it had fairly low k's) for around $66,000. That was a couple of weeks ago - it was a super cab ( I need a Crew) Wayne

Amazing, I just spoke with Ford Australia and there isn't a single new F-250 4x4 SuperCab in the entire country at any dealer! They gave me a list of the dealers that have them on order. The 2002 in Oakleigh appears to have been sold. tgintl

Further to my last - don't trust the "horse's mouth". When I called a few dealers they indicated that they had them on the lot! tgintl

When I was at the New Ocean Ford Dealer in Noosa last week they had a super cab and a twin cab for sale. The 4WD books show that they sold 100 F250's in August 03 compared to 152 in August 02, so there will be plenty to choose from and you should be able to screw them down more than when we bought in March 02 when there was a 3 month weigh to get one.
