Hi Just learned that the fitted fuel tank is made of plastic! Is that a concern to you 4WD off-roaders? Puncture by rocks etc!? Thanks, Jay

We have been "all over & all around" on some of the worst roads without problems with the fuel tank.
It is well protected with a steel plate.
Not so for the wiring loom to the gearbox.
We punctured the loom with a rock or stick on the Tanami and it left us without 4WD selection. Took a lot to find the problem too.
Ford service have since reccommended that this area have protection from production, don't know if it has taken affect yet, or if it will.
We have protected the harness with black split flexible conduit.

Me old mate John had his F350 loom wiped out in this area of the transmission also. I forget who made it now but his "effie" now sports a metal shield to protect this loom and the plastic cover where the loom attaches to the trans. Anthony Explore this Great Land ...Do it Easy ...Tow a Bushtracker
