Jay, you mean you haven't talked Steve into putting a periscope on the BT so you can travel underwater. And here I was thinking you had all the mod cons on your van. Angie

Jay, After just reading the posting about your "expert/student relationship" with Steve Gibbs, I can see why you haven't asked him about the periscope. When you get to Tassie you will see that the money to get there is well spent. You should be able to see quite a bit in 3 months. Angie 137 sleeps to go and nearly all packed.

Hi Jay and Jacqui I hope you asked about "apex" fares on the Spirit of Tas. Discounted fares, limited availability and must pay within 3 days of booking. It is costing us $1560.00 to get to Copeton and back with effie + 21'BT +2 adults and 3 kids. (only pay for 1 kid as is over 3 yrs) . Got inside 4 berth cabin. Admitedly, we are not travelling in peak season like you will be but apex is worth asking about. Looking forward to meeting in Tas in 2005 and talking about "the cape" and all things Boggerish. Regards Rod and Dominique

Jay, We just spent 5 wonderful weeks in Tasmania. Over the 5 weeks, our accommodation costs were $120. We stayed a few nights (3-4) in caravan parks, but the rest was in camping areas and rest stops. We obtained a little booklet "Free Camping Guide in Tasmania" which is available in most information centres. We had a ball. You will enjoy it but after 5 weeks, I was ready to come back to the mainland. Some people like to stay for just 3 weeks, others like to stay for 3 months, but I would definitely go back again. Cheers, Mike.

Mike If you would definitely go back, why would you leave after 5 weeks. We want to raft the Franklin, kayak the Frecinet (spelling?), and do the walk from Craddle Mtn to Lake St. Clair, as well as all the other things there are to do and see and boat and fish and hike and horseback ride and and and................... Cheers, see ya at Copeton tgintl/jay
