An upgraded F250 is about to be released in the USA. It has a 6 ltr diesel, new telescoping mirrors, improved brakes, redesigned suspension and factory installed trailer braking unit. Check out the www.ford.com site for info. Any one have any news if this model will be imported to Australia this year or early 2005 and if there is any reports on the engine performance against the 7.3 ltr? Dusky

Dusky, The 6.0 lt alloy diesel V8 is now in its second year of production in the states. There were quite a few teething problems in the USA with the motor and transmissions just like any new motor/trans combo. I believe there was a recall and the transmission ecu logic was upgraded. There are no plans to bring the 6.0lt to Aust according to Ford and this is somewhat backed up by the fact that they have been out in the USA for a full model year. The motor has a significant improvement in power and a slight improvement in torque from the 7.3 lt ...with better economy a result also. The trans has a spin-on filter and a tow mode. The extra cost of this engine combo would kill sales in Aust especially as we now only get the mid model F-trucks here and even they are expensive. Who knows it might filter through to Oz. I'll give it two model years here if it does and then jump in for one !! Regards Anthony Explore this Great Land ...Do it Easy ...Tow a Bushtracker
