Dear Oldperc I have washed our curtains by hand in lukewarm water using a very gentle detergent ( liquid wool wash for example) I then hung them over an indoor clothes airer in the shade. Taking them off their tracks requires care and patience though as you would not want to break any of the hooks or carriers. The pelmet is easy to remove as it attaches with velcro. Just another hint, I left all hooks, wire in pelmet etc in, as I felt there was no need to make any extra work for myself! Liz

Margaret has washed ours in a similar manner to Liz without any problems. Ours have a small label giving cleaning instructions. They will require a wash when we get home again, as the very fine dust in the top end of WA manages to come through the open windows and give them a reddish tinge. Brian
