B.O.G. Management Structure
For those that are new to the site I will explain the current management structure.
We have four managers, Bob (Turist), Peter (Motley), Tony (
Bushtracker 18) and Brian (Noosa Nomads).
We then have numerous assistant managers. Assistant Managers have all the controls as Managers except that they can not delete the
Forum completely.
When the site was first formed I “volunteered” the foundation members to assistant manager status.
The reason for this is that as we are a mobile group we needed to be sure that there was always someone reading the
forum that had the ability to immediatly deal with unseemly postings such as porn, direct insults, bad language etc.
With the new web site this management structure will now not be required.
All our assistant managers will dissapear as the site will be professionaly managed.
The site will still require monitoring for porn and the like but it has been shown on other sites that once registration is required prior to posting the volume of these postings reduces dramatically, to just about zero.
Monitoring will be a task undertaken by all members, anytime something offensive crops up you can notify the administrator who will take the appropriate action.
The new structure will allow the elected officers to liase with the site controller for modifications to the web site as and when required.
The current management has come under critisicm from time to time, both on
Forum and by direct e-mail contact for taking action against some parties and for perhaps unfair censorship at times, so now is the opportunity for you to stand up and be counted.
A previous posting calls for people interested in becoming part of the management team to stand for election.
If you feel that your input would be of benifit to the membership put your name forward as a canditate at the next election to be held in conjunction with the rally in September.
