Noticed there are not very many pictures in the members profiles. I wonder if the reason is the 50K limit on the upload. I have been trying for the last couple of adys and the smallest file I can come up with is 65k.
Has anybody got any good ideas

Trevanlyndal...
If you are using XP and Microsoft Office, open your original (or preferably a copy) in Microsoft Office Picture Manager. Go to Pictures menu> Compress Pictures... Click on the Radio Button 'Compress for Web Pages'. This reduced a 3.27MB photo file to 92.1KB. Selecting 'Compress for Email message compressed the same file to 11.7 KB.
If you have Adobe Photoshop Elements or similar, you are given the option of saving a file at different resolutions- I actually find this more convenient.
I always manipulate a COPY of a file in case something goes awry!
Good luck!

My rig photo (no BT yet- still in embryonic form!) was saved in Adobe Photoshop at level 2, and was 37KB

Thanks for the help . I don't have the programs mentioned but Google Search has come to the rescue with a demo program called Photo Elf. Easy to download, virus free ( scanned since download) and a snap to use.
