G'day all! I need some clues as to how I go about cleaning the flyscreens in the "newstyle Dometic" double glazed windows. They roll up into the top of the window frame when not in use, and are not "fixed enough" to be able to wipe them down when across the window space. They look like they are not meant to be able to be removed ! They have stains on them from various juicey bugs being rolled up into them by mistake (just never noticed the critters!) and they are also in need of a good clean from the red dust on them here in Kalgoorlie. Steve......anybody?????
Any advice appreciated .
Cheers from Jan O

Hello Jan,
The Advanced Technological Answer from da "Lone Ranger" is Duh, don't know...
Sorry... But be careful, I think they are a bit fragile and I would not go spraying them with any cleaners, OK? The constant action up and down each time you open or close the windows is their shortcoming, so be careful....
Cheers, stg

On second thought, why not call Dometic and see what they suggest...
Brisbane 07 3205-7599
Victorian Home Office... 03 9545-5655 No email address on our card... But possibly a search on Dometic Australia, could get you an email contact....
Cheers... stg

Well, Dometic got back to me with no real answers. They said, and I quote "This is the first time anyone has asked this question, so we don't know the answer." !!!! Does NO ONE clean their fly screens?
Looks like I am going to have to take the front of the frame off to get the screen and blind assembly out just to clean it! Hmmmm.........

I don't know the exact screen you're speaking of, but can you blow the bugs off with a nozzle on a compressed air hose. Once they've dried out they should blow off.
Or combine that with vacuuming?
