Following an earlier post re Landcruiser 100 series, I have had a look at the webiste for the Dtronic chip upgrade (http://www.dtronic.com/dtronic/dtronic.htm).

On paper, it looks pretty good - but has anybody out there actually installed one, and can provide comment?

Hi We have one in 2002, 3 ltr. Patrol..Nearly 2 years now.
It makes it (car) a different vehicle.Same fuel consumption, Same top speed. Extra gear, mid range. Can accelerate on flat, from 80+k's, with 2.5+ ton, offroader behind. loses a lot of the lag in a manual too.
Best $1500 I ever spent on a car..
It works by remapping the fuel system. NOT boosting anything. So should not overstress anything...
The latest model, Has a very similar remapping from factory.. Not as much grunt though.
Regards
Macka.

Hi Phil Installed the Dtronic in our 100 series only 2 days ago but it seems to have made a noticeable difference in pick-up and smoothness through gear changes (auto transmission) but I don't know how it goes towing as we are due to pick up the BT next week so I can't help you there.
Cheers Colin & Gayle

Saw them at BTi today, inspecting their almost completed mobile home, and for some reason they were both rather excited and anxiously waiting for delivery on Tuesday.
