In our local paper this week there was an advertisement for a full sized folding bicycle.
They are manufactured from 7005 Air Craft Grade Aluminium. All major components are of alloy or stainless steel and they are said to fold and unfold in 30 seconds.
The 3 models available start from $795 which includes bike bag, & Cap.
Their web site is www.onyerbike.com.au
They look ideal for anyone who wants to have a bike with them while caravanning, and not having to carry a standard sized non folding bike somewhere.

Bikers,
Another option is the 20 inch Giatex bikes available through Camec.(about $500 each). We have two and they both fit into a 2300long x300w x750h checkerplate box which is across the A frame in front of the spare wheels. It is dustproof, lockable, and easy to slide off for access to spares and gas bottles. (see photos in my picture file). The bikes have 6 speed Shimano gears, front and back brakes, and, are quite comfortable to ride. Full size bikes are probably better to ride, but they are likely to be heavier (Giatex are 17kg) and storage requirements are probably larger.
worth a comparo before buying!!
cheers.............Rob & Liz

Rob,
Have a look at their web site.
The most expensive is 17kg and 27speed and
the cheapest is 16kg and 21 speed.
They look like top of the line bikes, but they also come at a pretty hefty price.

I've just purchased 2 fold up bikes. They are made by Dahon. www.dahon.com. Both are alloy frames and weigh around 13.9 kg's. I purchased the Matrix and the Vitesse for my wife. My model folds in 5 seconds and fits into a bag. Folded size = 38x69x91 cm. I'm very impressed.

Another option are Dahon SpeedPros for those who do serious cycling. We have two fitted out with front and rear racks for paniers - have used them to go cycle touring.
They live in their bags in the Effies canopy.
Cheers,
