For Bob or anyone else that is interested in the upgrades available on towing capacity I have done some more research.

Frost engineering in Launceston Tas can upgrade vehicles to ADR compliance.
They have upgraded new 100 series landcruisers for Tasmania police to enable them to tow their boats ie 4 T cats or eden craft boats. They have tried an F 250 but I will not go there.!

They tell me that 10 % upgrades can be done relativley easily but for above that there may be more requirments. The vehicle has to be tested towing the new weight with GPS attatched with brake sensors etc to enable them to meet requirements for braking distances bla bla.

Thanks Tristo, others may be interested in that but as the new Chev Duromax + Allison 1,000 6 speed auto has a trailer tow rating of 7,000 Kg I don't think that I'll need an upgrade.
The engine has 268 Kw as against 175 Kw for the Ford 7.3.
With a torque figure of 883 Nm it should handle the BT OK.

Bob,
Just pull the sun visor down when you get it, there will be a mirror there to tidy up your make-up.... After all, it is a Chevy you know... Ha!

Helloo Raanger (Said with a soft drawn out voice)

Just been reading about the true life doco about cowboys.
Starring a bloke called Heath Ledger.

Now I know why you're trying to get me into a skirt and make-up.

Mmmmmm.

if you want I can sell you a T650 Kw or maybe an acco 6*6 now she will tow !

Bob or anyone out there tell me if I wrong but what are the odds of building a 18ft van for say 2000Kg , or am I better as the guys from BT have told me to lose 1 ft to 17 ft and gain the weight saving there? , how much room would you really lose inside I only need a double and single set up down the other end ?

Our 21ft van with 3 solar, 3 batteries, 3 water tanks, shower/toilet etc had a tare of 2480 kgs and is a bit heavier now with extra solar, battery and 2 water tanks, but even with all 5 tanks full we still keep below the 3500 gross weight when fully loaded.
