Angie

We purchased one from Camec a few years ago at that sort of ridiculous price. At the time they were about as available as hens teeth. When looking for a third shelf, to make three pizzas in one go, we found that ovens tend to be a bit standard & were able to "make" a shelf by shortening an old shelf from some long redundant stove that I had stored in the shed with a view to possibly using as a BBQ plate.

Hello Cyclone Angie, I held off answering to allow others to jump in here...

But I don't want my polite conservative attempts, to cost you extra money... Before you go spending big, if you have the Caprice Stove? It used to come from Dometic (old Electrolux)...

But they do not carry it any more, now it is carried by Thetford, in Melbourne,
on 03 9358-0700....

If you do not have the Caprice, and have the Swift, go direct to them for it, on
03 9359-3068....... Ranger

Thanks guys, we do have the Caprice stove but might look at Andy's suggestion as a first alternative.

Well I did not want to sound scroungy, but that is what I would do myself... For the past thrity or forty years, I would have made one out of an old fridge shelf or something like that.... "Mother of Inverntion" and all that stuff..

But that was then, and this is now. It really comes down to whether you have more time or money, which one is more expendable. Even with money on hand, it is still sometimes easier to fabricate something yourself, than to hassle tracking it down... Everytime I go to dump a load a rubbish, I look around at all the cool stuff I could make something out of, if I only had more time. But as it is, I collect too much stuff and look like Steptoe and Sons or Sanford and sons a bit in my garage... Ha!

It is hard not to think that way and a hard habit to shake, living on yachts for so many years, when you had to fabricate what you needed at times... I am still a Tinkerer only with Land Yachts now...

Hi Angie,

We have the Caprice and an extra shelf cost us $11 at Bushtracker when Peter organised one for us about 8 months ago.
