We stayed there last year but used the Bongaree caravan park which is across the road from the boat ramp and jetty and in walking distance from 3 clubs.
We were going to go and camp in the national park but as we were only there for a couple of days thought that the fee for the pass was too steep for a couple of days only.
This caravan park is not far from the surf beaches and jetty for fishing, but is a typical caravan park, albeit one with noce hosts and good amenities and quiet at night. with few permanents. There is apark on the surf beach but we know nothing about it, The park on the mainland had a lot of permannents when we were there.
If you want to pump nippers (Yabies) t for bait then go back across the bridge to the mainland and go down by the marina development. You will find plenty there in front of the houses and units.
If you like crabs then you can get blue swimmers straight across from the ramp in about 3.6m of water and muddies up the creek. Whiting were a bit hard to find but they are around if you try hard. Try the old wreck if you have a boat.

Hey we live there!!!!!
If want a caravan park then we'd suggest the park at Woorim Beac...surf side (not really big surf!! Better surf up the beach north but you need a permit and its a minimum of a week at approx $35 fro Parks and Wildlife)
If you want a free camp site you can park out front of our place or down the drive or there is a great free spot on Boyd Street at what we call the Lookout. You have views to Moreton Island out of your van window.
Another spot is just north of the town on what is known as the 4x4 access track.
We live at Woorim Beach so give us a call and we'll do what we can for you. call 0408 713275 anytime
