Hi Steve,

Did you want the review on this forum or emailed to you? We tried to watch it on my computer at work and had probs but when we loaded it onto the Dell home laptop she ran without a hitch and menu was easy.
Haven't tried to view it on the good old DVD player attached to telly but will try on the weekend.
Copy quality was not sharp but I assume that was because of being copied a number of times. Must admit we had a laugh at some of the things and also noted the use of various items that seem invaluable to real bushies!!!
We have already had other people looking over our shoulders and asking if and where they can get a copy, I figure when I live in a town of less than 500 people and so far 4 have asked about our BT and now the DVD, well.....and yep I will copy and supply to them.
Do you also want a more in depth review via your email?

Hello Prue,

No, really the purpose is to see if you liked it or not..

Really I just wanted to know if it was too tame for real Bushies or not, I wanted to hit a middle ground where it was entertaining to the Veterans, without scaring the Newbies. Some other Videos of a van that copies our style (poorly in my opinion), their videos are commented on as being a "Yabo bash about" that our Clients have said did not do them any real credit. I don't want the Newbies that might be spending $150,000 on tow vehicle and van, to think that jumping vehicles at high speed and crash and bash sliding around abusing the equipment was necessary... Because it is not !!

Without being to rough and scary for the city Newbies, I wanted to show the kind of Lifestyle that was sustainable long term without abusing the equipment.... What I really tried to do, was select some very interesting country I knew about on Stations and Crown Land and National Park areas, that would be an interesting backdrop for a middle of the road sort of sustainable view of what travel in the Bushtracker Lifestyle was really like...

Many Newbies have trepidations, about what the whole travel mode and Lifestyle is really like, and that is whom I have targeted the DVD for...

Please send in your address, and I will mail you out the latest format in square TV style, that has all the buttons of the menu right at hand, OK?

Thank you for your comments...

Hi Bushtracker,
Will this DVD be available for distribution to the public at the Sydney and Brisbane shows? It sounds that this DVD may be the 'deal clincher' with my wife. We will be there at both shows browsing around. After the factory tour and further research, I now know what van I want; now if I can get a certain layout internally to please my wife, then we will be buying a 21' BT. There really is no other choice. Your 'tour guide' Mathew was very good at the factory.
Cheers
Kevin

Hi all,

Ok here we go, watched the entire DVD last night with a couple of reds and after reading Steve's comments above as to the purpose in making the dvd I believe he has achieved just the right mix. I must comment firstly though that some shots were a little long but not enough to annoy the viewer. I liked the mix of showing that going off road does not mean going without the small luxuries. The vans looked great from the outside and no one looked as if they had had a rough night (sleeping wise) or as if they had not been able to shower. Newbies may or may not be used to going 4x4 driving but it was great to see that the drivers did not need to be gung ho about being off road, slow and steady is the right way.
Loved the camp cooking with trusty old tripod and the kettle for a cuppa, great to also see people who do not need to make their fire the size of a small mountain in order to cook a meal and stay warm, coals are best for cooking especially using the cast iron pot. We never travel without the above mentioned items.
Also enjoyed the factory tour section but did come across one major difficulty in watching this dvd: I now want a new BT and I want retirement now!!
Husband not pleased at all.
By my assessment that means the dvd is a success.

Thank you Prue,
As to your second Bushtracker, since we started counting three years ago, 46 have done it... The new technology, new equipment, new layout innovations, newer is indeed nicer... And most (like maybe 95%) sold their Bushtrackers second hand at a profit so the upgrade was not as painful... $$

Thank you for taking the time to do the Review... I did not want it to appear to be too professional, lacking in the realism... And I left shots long in places that most Newbies commented want to soak it in a little... It was not hap hazzard, but design...

The Tri-Pod and Furphy cast iron kettle, is a thing of the Old West here in Australia, and an important source of iron in the diet.... Ha!.... No, Really!!! Particularly for women...! Anyways, I love the look of it, and still do not carry a BBQ, I am quite good with coals and grate and grill, and the water poured over while hot makes a lot of sizzle and boil, but cleans it right up for you to easily put away in a hessian bag...

Regards from the lone Ranger...
