Mallacoota mini rally went well, all there had a pretty good time I am told.

The fishing was good for some, not so good for others.
Helen and John did well, but I found their secret.
The bait they were using.
Got a pic of it here.

The only problem that I found with Mallacoota was that the week went too quick and we had arranged to do things in Melbourne that could not be postponed.
Next time we visit there we will make sure we have about 3 weeks available to enjoy the area properly.

No doubt there will be more Bushtracker gatherings at Mallacoota in the future.

Yay, we obviously had a great time. But to all you conservationists I would have put this little fish back if I'dve had my camera with me. My first 'biggie' was a legal catch a Dusky Flathead and you could keep one over 60cm per day ... this one was just over a meter. (No one even related would have believed me if I hadn't the proof and the proof has been good eating)

For the religious... its Lent.... and Jesus said it was Ok to eat fish.... he was a fisherman!

Malacoota great venue, heaps of options for water enthusiasts - fishing, fishing fishing.... and the occasional swim and then prawning, prawning prawning. And its just a little village but with everything but without the crowds at this time of year and so accessible - you havn't got to walk/drive miles to access the water.
Good caravan park and that saying something for one who avoids them if at all possible... great views and we wern't fenced in.

Only downside was the BT crowd was split up as some preferred the powered sites wheras we opted for the view without the power - but we managed to catch up with just about everyone.

Cheers,
Helen

PS Bob I did not threaten Isabella that she would be good bait... anyhow she took a smart dash under the seat when this fishy came over the side LOL Good memories were made that trip. Thanks to you and John for arranging everything.

It all looks great. Can you please tell us in which caravan park you stayed?
Cheers, Peter
