Our van is bit over 12 months young and we have a small problem with the volume of gas available at the stove or hot water system, The auto ignite hot water system will start then stop, and the burners on the stove hardly light up. i have checked the regulator but cannot get more flow out of it. I would have changed the regulator but am reluctant to drill out the pop rivets to get it off. Does anybody have a suggestion.

It is not Legal for you to mess around with the gas system, and no one should give you advice to do so, particularly on this Public Forum....

Have a Gas Man remove it and test the Regulator, it is a simple fix to change it out if that is the problem... It could be some debris has gotten into the line from changing over gas bottles, a bit of rubber O-ring or plastic or something, but a Gas Man will know what to do. It will probably just be a test of the regulator, and if it is fine, a disconnect of the main gas line a compressed air blow out. My guess that it is either a faulty regulator, or some debris in the valve body of a replaced tank that has blown into the system. Some tanks have a plastic plug, thread coming off, that sort of thing...

Anyway, it is Illegal and NOT ADVISED for you to open any part of the gas system.
Besides the Law, that is there for your own good, a gas leak or problem later could affect your insurance if Amatuer tampering was found to be the cause...

Are you sure it's a regulator problem, I have noticed on our BT when a gas bottle is getting low yes you will have problems gettting oven and hot water working, at this stagethe only thing that seems to want to work is a jet on the stove. When I switched over to a fresh full bottle no problems, everything worked hope this helps. If all is ok with bottles get it pressure tested by a LPG gas fitter then replace if necessary.
Good Luck, BIRCHY.

I have heard and personally seen other new vans (not BT's) having numerous regulator problems. The manufacturer was replacing the regulator under warranty but the new ones would also fail after a short period, ie no gas getting through.
Turned out to be the hose from the gas bottles to the regulator. Small particles were coming of the inside of the hose clogging the regulator.
The manufacturer then replaced the hoses with metal pipes.

Talking about gas blockages. Our stove griller seems to only have half the jets working at full capacity. The middle section has a flame but only the tichiest (enough to say it's alight) but that's all. But reasonable flame at both ends.

Is there something wrong with our gas jets?

Northing wrong with Ivan's gas jet, it was working pretty well after all that road kill chilli jerky at Mallacoota.

Aside from that, while you are around the Sunshine Coast why not get the gas fitter to check it.
The factory will give you his mobile number.
He does house calls and I think a discount for birds wearing black mesh hose.
