Hi all,
I have looked around and read a lot about the Aussie traveller Coolabah annex and think we may have a unique problem. First of all I need to state that we have found the outfit fantastic. It has withstood months of strong gusty wind and a lot of rain. Over much use I have gradually got better in the construction and usage so that it really is an excellent second room to the van.
Just yesterday though as I was cleaning the windows of the van I discovered that the two windows that are inside the Annex have a dirty spotting as if it had been sprayed with fly spray. It covers the whole window and refuses to come off using any of the detergents we have currently. Why?
Experimenting with different cleaners I found that a multi purpose 'Orange Clean' degreaser made a good difference. So far have only tried it on a small spot due to fear of damaging the window.
Any comments or suggestions appreciated.

Angie it could be a form of mildew.
Try to polish it off with a plastic polish such as Mothers plastic polish.
Most good auto spares shops stock it.
Makes the plastic look great and repels rain and dust as well.

Hey Bob,
Windows are too high for Angie and I just could not get her up on the ladder.
Thanks for the tip mate.

G'day Angie & Ivan,
Plexus is the go for BT windows, even to the extent of removing scratches. It also creates a protective film, making removal of any substance much easier. The product was specifically developed for cleaning windows of F18 fighter planes. You can get Plexus at Motor Cycle shops (used for protection and cleaning of motorbike windscreens)........a spray can....for about $20.
Cheers.........Rob

Car polish is the go. Try Turtle Wax. Polish and removes scratches.

= AND THE RESULT IS =
I did not get to try the plexus but settled for the high quality polish and the stuff came off. I suspect as your suggested Bob that it was some form of mildew. Elbow grease and mild detergents certainly did not shift it. I am sure the plexus would work as have used that before on motor bike helmet visors.
= NEW PROBLEM =
These two windows are now better than the rest which means someone is suggesting I have another job.

I would not use a Orange Oil base cleaner as it is a very agressive solvent and solvents are out on this type of window.
