While over in WA last year I backed into a hole and didn't realise until we had travelled a coupl of hundred kilometers that when I did so, I must have ripped a rear mud flap off the F250.

Well this week I though I would go around to Ford and get a new set for the F250. The parts girl looked up the price and then rang Ford to checkas the price didn't appear correct. She was assured that it was and the list price for a set of rear mudflaps for a Tub style F250 was about $440. This is NOT a misprint, that is what they wanted for 2 pieces of rubber.

I then went down to Clark Rubber and bought 1 metre by 300mm of 6mm thick rubber that is enough to make 2 new mud flaps up with for $33.

Hi Brian

Glad you were able to improvise at a fair value. Bet they last longer than the originals.

With so many things these days it is cheaper to get from the US than buy in Australia. In WA can get things here quicker from USA than it seems to take to get things across from the eastern states too.

Where are Boggers buying parts for their Effies? Any good US retailers?

Yeah Brian Ford don't miss you do they. I have just had delivered from the USA a set of the ROCK TAMER mudflap system which are very impressive. Comparing with the original Ford mudflaps at $440 the price of $239.50US is cheap.

The only problem was the freight costs which were more than the mudflap system but they were on my fathers doorstep three days after ordering from the US to Perth WA so can't complain, all up cost was $550, even at this price it is only $110 more than the little originals.

The Powerstroke shop in the US is the place to get parts for the F250.

Just another Ford Australia price ripoff, I purchase some oil filters from Ford at a reasonable price of around $26, basically the same price at Coventy's for original Ford Oil filters so at least they are reasonably priced.

I thought I would purchase a copper sump gasket to have as a spare, you know the little tiny thin one, well Ford want's $18, bloody ridiculous.

Cheers
Stewart
