After visiting the Brisbane Caravan Show we found an option to the "tinny" that may suit our needs - The Porta Bote - that folds up to the size of a surf board. Has anyone got one or had experience with them ?

Any feedback would be appreciated.

Hi
I also have been looking closely at Porta Bote, which seems an attractive way to drag a boat around. I have know a workmate who has one and used it a bit with very positive comments. The Internet site some good info.
I have searched this site - there are a couple of Boggers with positive reports.
My question however is:
Is there an elegant way to carry one in, on or under the BT rather than on the roof of the truck? I recall reading about a Winnebage that was built with a tunnel under the flooring to hold a PB and I assume the seats etc.
Ideas?
Regards

Just as a thought, it really depends on what sort of boating you were into. For me scooting around the tropical north I doubt I could get comfortable in something other than metal between me and the snapping handbags! Also, I think the maximum motor size would also not appeal.

Kind regards

David & Denice,
I remember seeing the Flat Out Boat from WA reviewed on the New Inventors last year. Go to their website at www.flatoutboats.com.au/ to see what they have to compare. It certainly looked interesting and is made in WA as oppposed to being imported.

I looked at Flat out boats but they are 50% more expensive than the porta bote. Portabote has 10 year warranty on hull, flat out boat ddoes not. Also, flat out don't have any stock available til October.
