After travelling the Gibb RR for 2 weeks we arrived at ELQ for two days and they would not allow us to leave for three extra days at there expence due to rain and closure of GRR.We could not see much as they closed some of there oun tracks.
In the two weeks we travelled about 1100km in Kimberley GRR.
Thanks to Brian Fox and other posts on advice to tyre pressures

Yup - you can get bogged or worse still washed away unless you are very careful. At least they looked after your interests at their expense which is pretty good.

The east Kimberley has had very late, heavy and un-seasonal rains this year. I heard there were some 70 tourists stranded at Home Station.

Some people do really stupid things ie a 4x4 means "I can go anywhere"! Yeah right. We used to see wash-aways almost every year. One truck drove over a flooded bridge and over the side and finished vertical - downwards held in place by the pressure of the water.

Cheers John
