Is there anybody out there that can advise me on a outlet that has competative prices where I can purchase the following camera

Canon EOS 400D Twin Lens Kit DSLR.

If possible can you supply a web site or email address so that I can contact them as the phones over here rarely work that well.

Cheers

Try www.photocontinental.com.au.
They have the best prices in Qld.

Stewart,

Have you tried EBAY as you can quite ofter pick them up a lot cheaper than anywhere else?

Just be aware that you need to use caution on eBay, whilst there are many very reliable traders operating there are also a number of less than reputable and some outright scammers. Be careful about warranty and ALWAYS research the trading record pf the seller.

Hi Stewart
just a bit of advise with memory for the new camera
only use good quality Sandisk cards for speed of writing and reliability
Never use micro disk type cards or you risk loosing your photos

Try:
Photo Continental as above (I'm from Brisbane and have used PC since 1971) I bought my original Canon 300D from them in 2003
In Perth- Camera Solutions- excellent- I updated to a Nikon D200 system from them last year, price better than Photo Continental. camerasolutions.com.au - Peta North is the owner and has very helpful staff
or also in Perth, a new spot- praimaging.com.au - prices seem competitive.

Good luck
Bob

PS do yourself a favour and buy the 400D body only, and buy some better lenses- Canon make a great range of Image Stabilizer lenses, a bit more money, but vastly superior to the twin lens kit- 18-55 and 70-300- IMHO both fairly basic consumer quality. If money's not too tight, I'd recommend going to a Canon 30D. The 400D body is not particularly robust, the 30D has an alloy body.

Thanks to all of your replies it has been a great help and the quotes from some of them I have been getting back even make it more confusing as some have specials on with filters, cases, 3yr warranty etc etc at a price just a little more than the camera, wondershow they do it.

Its funny I was going to get one in Dubia when I go through in a few weeks, been in contact with the duty free shops in the airport, shops in the big Emirates mall and you can actually get it cheaper back home in OZ and with an OZ warranty and correct charging plugs, just something to think about if you are travelling overseas.

Once again all taken on board and the hunt continues.

Cheers

Hi,

I have just purchased a Canon EOS 400D camera (Twin lens kit and accessories) myself, and after reading this post, purchased it from Digital Camera Warehouse. Definitely the best price I could find.

Thank you for the info,

Cheers,
Greg
