I have been advised that there are a number of free-to-air channels available on D1. Now D1 does not appear to be one of the preconfigured satellites on the Oyster system.
Can anyone please advise how to add D1 to the list of satellites which are recognised on the Oyster, and how I then do a channel search?
Is it in fact possible to add another satellite through the menu system, or only via an operating system upgrade?

The Oyster Sat is the self-searching satellite televsion system which is available for installation through Sound-in-Motion. See www.smartsat.com.au/
Most free-to-view TV and pay-TV services available within Australia are beamed by the Optus C1 satellite, but there is another satellite also operated by Optus called Optus D1.
I have been advised that it is possible to view a range of free-to-view channels from D1 without the need for a smartcard. This advice is consistent with the channel information published by LyngSat - see www.lyngsat.com/optusd1.html
So my question is how do I tune my Oyster to D1?

Phil,
We do not have any satellite TV but last year when we travelled with Conrad and Niza, they had an Oyster fitted on their van. At that time they regularly showed us channels that were being broadcast from all over the world.
Conrad being Dutch liked watching programs coming from that part of the world, and they came in perfectly. All he seemed to do was push the channel required and the dish automatically changed satellites to the one required. It probably took only 5 to 10 seconds to log on.
Conrad is in Europe at the moment so will not be available to help your for about another month.
