We are about to install a fitting for a gas boyonet connection & there appears to be two options.

1. A flush plate on the side. Because we have an 18 footer this has to be done through the shoe box alongside the island bed. Tricky but by no means impossible.

2. A fitting, the type which would normally be floor mounted, which will fit proud externally behind a spare tyre.

Anyone have any knowledge/advice in this area?

Andy hi,

Just fitted one to mine. Fitted it just in front of the of the wheels on the paqssenger side, using a wall mount, fitted to a metal bracket with a cut off switch. works well. Use a hammer butt rubber to slip over the fitting to protect it from stones and dirt and mud. Fitted to use with a Webber Q. Drop me a line and I'll take a couple of picks.

Coops,

I am assuming that means that the gas supply to the Weber Q is now regulated by the regulator on the gas bottles on the BT. Is that correct?

If so, did you have to make any changes to the Weber Q or did you just change the gas line?

Thanks

Andy

After much discussion, Bushtracker installed a gas bayonet on the side of our van behind the the spare wheel on the awning side of the van.
Very neat job and make sure you get an additional tap fitted in the line to turn off the gas before the bayonet (the same as your stove) that way you can leave the barbie hooked up without worrying about gas leaking: EG the line is double checked.

Hope this helps Scott

PS our system is regulated from the gas bottle

Just to finalise this post. We looked at mounting in front & underneath as well as through the side wall inside the shoe box & ended up deciding on the latter as being the most neat & tidy. I have fitted drilled the appropriate holes & fitted the female bayonet connection. The gas fitter is coming during the week to make the gas connection.
