I like STRONG products.
For digital-terrestial TV SRT5006 is 240vac and STR5005 is 12vdc.
For satellite the new STR4654x is 12vdc and is the BEST box available today. Will work with magic cards.
All these boxes are available on eBay.

I've got a Topfield with built in hard drive for recording. Just finishing a trip where we had a problem with the box not recognising a signal. I had to give it a "whack" and it came good. I think it's suffered from travel on corrugations, but haven't opened it up yet to have a look.
That aside it's done the job. Good menu system and the recording function has been great. We store programs that we can watch when we make a bush camp and can't be bothered setting up the dish.

Thanks Motley and Ern, for the informative replies, we will be buying in the next few days, so will report back with our purchase. After caravanning for a couple of years we are having a motorhome built for our New Zealand travels. Using a Majestic Satellite Dome system - we didnt see any of these used in Australia but they are very popular here and seem to do the job well
