Hi all and hope everyone had a wonderful Xmas/New Year.
We are in Adelaide this week and have just bought the new 200 series GXL. Read the previous posts re wiring and plug and seeking further info as they are delivering car to NT and anything needing to be done we need to let them know beforehand. As far as we can see the plug is a seven pin and the hitch should fit but if anyone knows any other bits could you please let us know.
Also seeking info on the KDSS system and whether we need to still put the stronger coils on the rear or even can this still be done??
Thanks in anticipation.

Hi Prue and Peter,

The Hayman Reece WDH does fit straight into the LC200 receiver, 7 pin plug is standard.
Not certain about the suspension changes with KDSS yet but KDSS just affects the anti sway bar settings (in effect) and only comes into effect when low range is selected and allows much greater wheel travel.

The springs are typical Toyota and will be too soft for heavy towing. I believe that TJM and ARM will have their suspension kits available from about the end of January and I'm sure that they will take KDSS into consideration.

The other option would be airbags to help take ball load.

Regards,

Tony

Prue & Peter

We are awaiting our new cruiser and still unsure if we are going to have 138l tank or not as we ordered kdss with our td200. Can you advise the capacity you have with the KDSS. I must admit Iam still comming to terms with the new body style but it will grow on us. (Anybody want a great TD100 series mines for sale!!!) Anyway keen to hear how it performs towing

My understanding is the GXL TD optioned with KDSS comes with the larger of the tanks. The top of the model TD [VX / Sahara / whatever it's called] comes with KDSS as standard and has the smaller fuel tank.

To enviously waiting George and Quinny,
We are in the same boat, waiting and counting down. We can't get delivery until May but that is worst case. If you get KDSS on the GXL it takes a bit longer. Looked at the VX but fuel tank capacity for us has to be the 138L as we live in the NT remote. Apparently the KDSS does not affect the tank, we did check that! We are having the tyres changed to All-Terrain or similar though as the tyres that are standard are too soft for us. Will keep you informed as we go along and would love it if you could do same.
Quinny, Did you mean the 100 series or the new car? Our 100 series has 196000 on the clock and we are sad to see her go. She is fitted out with bullbar and hydraulic winch, water tank, two 12v outlets in the rear, 3 rhino racks, CB radio, CD player and direct wired for ipod. Standard deisel, barn doors, Kaymar rear wheel carrier plus spare underneath, extra heavy duty rear springs, old man emu suspension. White in colour dark grey upholstery and vinyl flooring, she was bought to last in the tough NT conditions but she has been looked after with regular Toyota services.
