Tomorrow, Friday 27 March, we are undertaking a major upgrade to our web site which we expect will fix the recent problems we have been experiencing with timeouts, long response times and site not being available.
We have been victims of our own success! The databases which contain all the postings, both current and archived, now contain so much data that the performance of the system is being strained. At the start there were about 60 members and the whole database of members and postings was a bit like a 6 x4 trailer. Now with well over 300 financial members and many more guests and the library of posting topics getting bigger and bigger, it's a bit like pulling a 20 ft BT up hill with a Toyota RAV4!
So we are changing the database "engine" to something with a bit more power - depending upon your own preferences you can insert at this point F250, Chevy, Toyota, Nissan, land Rover, Touareg or whatever.
This changeover requires that we take the site "off line" for a couple of hours. The current plan is that the site will be down from midday, Australian Eastern Summer Time, until about 2 pm.
We apologise for any inconvenience, but we think that you will be pleased with the results.

It was a "Test" post deleted almost as soon as it was posted.
Testing as part of the upgrade process.
