Hello All 12v/240v Gurus,

I have a 12 volt to 240 volt, 800watt inverter (1000w peak) and want to put in a circuit breaker on the inlet line from the auxilliary battery. Has anyone any idea as to what amperage the circuit breaker should be ?

Cheers...............Rob

Possible maximum current draw on 12v is 100 amp Rob.
So I suggest a 100 amp breaker or reduce to 80 amp if you want to restrict inverter to 800w max.

Hi Rob,

Bob is right on. Ohms law states I=W/E or in your language, Current = Watts divided by Voltage. 1000/12=83.33Amps
My suggestion would also be an 80A breaker
