JW ,
When I was in Alice waiting for my springs , I was given a pamphlet from " Extensions Are Us ". I just could not help myself , as I had always wanted a spa bath in the van .
I have to be careful with weight distribution now , but storing my red in the front of the van seems to balance the new extension quite nicely.
Cheers ,
Willie .

Now there's a man that likes to get some miles done. Good info Willie - what was your rough average cruising speed?

John and Jean ,
Going over to Cue , I sat on 100 and did not press to hold this speed on the hills .
From Alice Springs to Sydney , I was pushing it and sitting on 110 - trying to get back ASAP to avoid divorce .
Cheers ,
Willie .

Willie,
Towing 3 tonne with all the tanks full, with a LC100 TD with D-tronic chip, two spare wheels on the back and a kayak on top, we never stray far from an average of 18 litres per 100km. But we seldom hit 100kph either.

Towing 20ft
bushtracker on maiden voyage from Lowood to Seisia via Cooktown and Lakefield N.P. and Weipa then back to Chillagoe, Undarra, Hughenden, Winton, Jundah, Windorah then back home.
Total 7115 km used 1581 litres at 22.2 litres per 100km.
Tow vehicle Patrol 4.2 turbo diesel.
Cost 41.6 cents km.
Most of the dirt was good except for about 70km from Captain Billy Landing to the Jardine river. definatly bone shaking stuff. 1st and 2nd gear.
both van and car performed great.
