Good day. Could any of you seasoned Boggers advise me as to what would be the latest month to do a trip to Cape York? Would October be too late? Any respons will be appreciated. Cheers, Noworries

Greetings Noworries
The best time to go is winter. However it is still possible until the Wet Season starts.Usualy late November early December
The later you go the closer you are to the wet season, which is probably not the greatest time to be marooned.
The later in the season that you go the hotter it will be(but not excessively so) and the more likely you are to encounter the fire smoke from the annual burn off period just before the wet season.
The winds tend to pick up a bit later in the year and make the fish harder to find.
We were up there Sept / Oct 2006 and had a great time. Stayed at Loyalty Beach (animal friendly) (under control of course)
If October is the only time you have available to you, GO.

Thanks for that. Seems like sound advice: if that's the only time you've got, GO! Will give it some thought and maybe postpone and make a loooong trip up there next year during June/July. Thanks again. Noworries.

Been following this thread for info too! Thanks!
We have plans to go to the 'Tip' next year. LSL/Rec Leave combo starts 13th July and ends around start of October.
May see you along the way.
Cheers - Ian & Sally
