Today’s report from the Lake Houdraman campsite.

Weather fine and sunny all day with localised storm activity in the late afternoon.
Only a few drops of rain here.
Daytime temp around 30ºC.

More arrivals today have brought the numbers now camped to 16.

Quilpie Show and Rodeo tomorrow and it looks like all the camp will be going.

Regards
Bob

Please give our apologies to the gathered assembly. It seems like Boggers are coming from the four ends of the earth. We'd love to be blowing in ourselves and are almost drooling in envy, but Julie and I are leaders on this Scout expedition across the Simpson which we do regularly. Whilst we're passing through Quilpie next Saturday, we really can't justify diverting the expedition of 5 vehicles through the BOG rally site! The kids only have 17 days and we have to bolt straight for Birdsville so we can spend more time through Central Oz.
However, we'll have an in absentia drink with you on Sunday 21st at 16:00 Hrs!!

Rick,
The scouts would probably enjoy the chance to have a wander around the lake and look at the large gathering of vans that will be there then. Ask them if they would like the detour.

We left home yesterday afternoon and travelled to David & Maureen Lovelock’s farm at Kilcoy and then this morning after a leisurely start met up with David & Maureen Walker and we all headed out to Chinchilla weir and met up with another 3 Bushtracker Vans.
Tomorrow we will be travelling to Mitchell and after staying at the weir just out of town, so it will be interesting to see if we meet some other vans out there.
It is certainly shaping up to be a great rally.
