G'day Phil,

Have only been as far north on that road as Porcupine Gorge. Not a bad (gravel) road, with a bit of bitumen in the vicinity of Porcupine. We were dissappointed with the NPWS campground there.....pre-booked on internet only........and the little sites were fenced off with star pickets and a bit of wire.....and for this there is an "honour system" fee box. Just south of the park, on the right hand side before the bitumen starts you could see a windmill in the bush. If we were going along that road again it would be a magic campsite beside a billabong of the Porcupine River Then we'd do a day trip into the park. Leave camp 8 am .take a packed lunch in back-packs, with camera and trekking poles, drive to the main camp ground, and then spend the day walking down into the gorge (liesurely pace) and I'm sure you'll enjoy this magic place as much as we did.

Have fun..........Rob and Liz

Thanks for this site clue - hope to be that way mid 2009, last there Dec 2000 and yes it is magical.
There were some serious short steep jump ups between there and The Lynd Junction though! If still the same they will be fun towing a BT!
Cheers - Ian & Sally

Oh, and Phil,

If you are going through Corfield, spend a night at the Corfield Race Club (free camp),
Great hospitality, good food, and you might even meet up with Bog member Tony Foster.

Cheers.......Rob

Hi Phil,

In September, we travelled from Chillago - Mt. Surprise - Einasleigh - Lynd Junction - Hughendon.
No dramas, average to good unsealed road the entire trip, certainly no horror sections, & nothing to worry a BT. Great scenery.
