There are two Forums (Fora?) on this site.

Is the Owners' Forum visible to non members?

Which is the preferred Forum?

I don't think so and hope this is correct or else the whole idea is pointless.

G'Day Stephen & Alan

Yes you need to be a member to get all the benefits that membership provides.

It can be a bit confusing particularly to new members getting used to the site, but you will soon get the hang of it.

If you want to get a feel for what non members can view, open (access) the site without loging on to the site and you will immediately see the difference in access to the tabs at the top of the page, and then logon to the site and check the tabs available again.

Hope this helps

G'Day Alan & Stephen again

Sorry, forgot to add, "While you are accessing the site and you are not logged onto the site, try accessing the various tabs at the top to see the difference"

For only $35.00 it is worth taking out membership so that you have access to everything that is available.

OK I just tried loggging off and sure enough, the Members' Forum is not available to non members.

I guess my post about towing vehicles etc should have been put into the Owners' Forum.

I'm still not sure which Forum is most popular and most used amongst members.

From watching the forums I think that there are some things that are more forthrightley said on the Owners forum. They are best not on the open forum.
Some are little trade secrets eg special camping spots that members like to keep quiet in our own forum etc etc.

Most stuff seems to go onto the Open Forum. And probably most questions are put there as we all seem to read the Open Forum first.

That's just from my perspective.

Hi just a query
I dont mind spending the $35 for memebership as I recon it is or would be good value
but when I actually went to do it, the form requires that you have either ordered or own a bush tracker
Surely you can have an interest , do the home work as to what to get or up grade to
And yes pay the $35 for the info
but is this now not the case ?

Hi Stephen

I put most stuff on the open forum. We have quite a few people with either F250s or other brands of off road caravan that find this site more relevant to their needs than other more general travel forums. I only put stuff on the owners forum that is very BT specific and not suitable for general readership.

It is the best available Australian forum for F250s, and people asking an F250 question on ExOz usually get referred to this forum.

On the scale of costs, $35 a year is so small and worth paying, but to those who aren't already owners (be it a new or pre-loved van) or have a BT on order, you are welcome to remain on the open forum at no charge.
