While travelling through NSW, and looking for a powered site one night, we came across this very affordable but very basic Caravan Park at Ardlathem.(Camps 4 Site 852.)
It is located on the NW side of the town, which itself has been bypassed by the highway and as a result is quiet. We had the place to ourselves.
Power, reticulated water to sites, toilets, hot & cold water, showers, twin tub washing machine (which was FREE to use), sites are bare earth in amongst the trees. It is small in size and could probably cater for 6 or 7 vans, so phone contact before arrival would probably be wise. The sign at the site indicates 0269782396, while Camps 4 indicates 0269273206.
We utilised the power and did our washing all for the $15, which would have cost us in the order of $35 elsewhere.
The park is provided and run by the local Lions Club, and is located adjacent to the town swimming pool, and at $15 per night it has to be considered a steal. OK it is very bare and basic. No green grass in the drought, but it is kept clean and tidy and the swimming pool next door was operating until almost sunset and was open again next morning early.
The signs say that you need to contact Janice to get the key for the amenities, $10 refundable deopsit. We found it difficult to make phone contact Sunday afternoon, but the caretaker at the pool was only too happy to organise a key for us.
The town has all the amenities required including a very busy Bowls club, a hotel, IGA, Paper shop , P O, Police Stn etc.
