The final date for receipt of applications ( by post ) is Friday 3 April 2009.
The final validity date for approvals is Friday 15 May 2009 and all phone purchases must be completed by that date.

The Satellite Phone Subsidy Scheme is an Australian Government initiative to help people living or working in the most remote parts of Australia purchase satellite mobile phones. The Scheme was scheduled to conclude on 30 June 2009 with applications closing on 3 April 2009. On 5 March 2009 the Minister for Broadband, Communications and the Digital Economy announced the enhancement of the Scheme and its extension until June 2013.

Bugger we just got our's today ,to beat the deadline. Would have waited a bit longer otherwise.
We got ours through a Telstra agent as the Testra shops arround us could not do it. The agents phone price is not the same as Telstra's, we did not know of this and assumed ( never assume) the price was the same, untill we picked up the phone.
