Hi all. Just wanting some trip info about what to expect on these roads. We intend to travel from Kununurra to Darwin via the Duncan and Buchanen Highways in June/July just for something different. Those of you who have done this trip...care to share where the good camping spots are and what to look out for?
Cheers, Jan O & Easy.

I have just arrived in Kununurra via the Buchanan all the way from Dunmarra. Good gravel Dunmarra to Top Springs. Gets rough after that with MANY dips of the un-expected variety even at 40 kph. However quite ok. Great camp in the Victoria River just off the side of the crossing north side, (water only ankle deep). Lovely scenery around Jasper Gorge. Entry to its camp sites was ok two days ago. But it gets very hot there due to gorge depth. The Duncan condition could be advised by Kununurra Police. The road to Bullita outstation Gregory National Park is closed. Free camps seen along the Victoria Hwy were all filling up early arvos. SO many old buggers on the road now. (just like me?) cheers

Thanks Silver Fox, and welcome to Knx for the silly season! Unfortunately, I managed to write the F Truck off a couple of weeks ago, so we are heading back to Newman in August to the serious dollars for a while. Call it a "I broke the truck so I have to do time in purgatory" move, as I absolutely HATE Newman, but it is where the money is! (And we need some!) One day we will be back on the road and will travel "the road less travelled" as talked about. Once again, thanks for your info.
Cheers, Jan O
