After five days on the road, we have arrived at Wickham (WA coastal Pilbara) to stay a while with son, d.i.l and baby (almost six months old). We came mainly the 'inland' route, past New Norcia, Dalwallinu, Mt Magnet, Cue, Meekatharra, Newman, drove through Karajini to Tom Price, Paraburdoo, and on to the coastal highway to Karratha and Wickham. Not a lot of sightseeing, as we had seen much of it before. We had some nice camp sites - this time all recognised overnighters.

It is great to hear you are making good time Motherhen. It sounds like you are going though the same route we used a couple of years ago...

Happy travelling!

Hi Chris

Any tips on places worth stopping to look at, or top spots to camp? We will stay here for a few days before we tackle the desert again. I have yet to take a good look at distances and work out best re-fuelling points.

Hi Motherhen,

Sounds like the making of another great trip. I hope you don't have the "issues" you had on the last one.

Kind regards

Theo

Hi Motherhen,

We are very envious of you up there where it is warmer. We are stuck down here in Perth for the winter while we are waiting for our van, wont be able to get away to warmth this year.

Not too sure where you heading but there is a magic spot out off the Rippon Hills -
Telfer Mine road, where we spent a magic few days a couple of years ago.

Have a great time.
