Hi all
I have just taken delivery of my F250 (2004) and need to ask a question re the batteries. On the drivers side the battery is a wet cell with two caps that can be removed to add water etc. On the passenger side the battery is enclosed in a plastic box which has six small holes on the top cover. I cannot remove this cover unless I remove both terminal clamps. Can anyone advise if this battery is a wet cell or some other type? I would think that the batteries are original.
Kind regards
Jack

Jack,
Ours were like that and they were both the same type.
When you have to replace them you will find that there are very few places that stock them as they have a higher cranking capacity than most other vehicle batteries.
I have found that Battery World outlets usually have them in stock.

Jack,
On thinking about it, our first set of batteries lasted about 4 years and I believe that they were sealed batteries, not wet cell.
What we have now are sealed.

Thanks Brian
One of mine must have been replaced at some stage because it is a wet cell that needs checking and I wanted to confirm that the other original was a sealed type. You have confirmed that.
Thanks heaps.

I replaced both of mine a few months ago.(Plus the deep cycle as well.)
Delco Remy, which is fairly widely stocked, have a replacement.
Just a small point to clear up they are all wet cell just some are sealed and some not.
Cheers
Chris

Jack,
Mine are 800 CCA where most vehicles only require 700 CCA.
