We wanted to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and safe travels for 2010.

Our travels this year have taken us from Wingham NSW (where we wrote from last year) down to Victoria, South Australia, Northern Territory & Western Australia. The Landcruiser has travelled 54,981 km. The caravan only went 30,593 km of which 3,583km were on dirt roads.

A total of 70% of our overnight stays this year have been in free camps, national parks and station stays, so we have kept well away from caravan parks except when we needed the air con.

If we had to choose a few special places we visited this year we would say. WA— the beauty & the isolation & the wonderful people we have met. Highlights were the Gibb River Road; Mt Augustus; Karijini Nat Park; Kalbarri NP; Steep Point. SA—Kangaroo Island with empty beaches and stunning landscapes. NT—Kakadu National Park—always a favourite place of spirituality & Indigenous art. NSW-Kosciuszko National Park where we loved walking and camping. There were many more places that we loved but space won’t allow us to write them all here.

There have also been many fantastic campsites. If we were to pick just a few we would say—NSW –Thredbo Diggings Campground in Kosciuszko National Park; Everywhere on Kangaroo Island– so many freebies; In WA—Cleaverville Beach; Karijini National Park; Carawine Gorge; Barn Hill Station; Albert Tognolini Rest Area; Gibb River Road, every station we stayed at was wow; and the Wheat Belt with beautiful free, & clean campsites.

We have done some walking this year, we figure over 1,900kms! No wonder we have gone through a pair of walking shoes each.

Thanks for all your help this year folk. Through this great forum and great camaraderie we have fixed the loo (yeah) and fixed a few other bits and pieces thanks to the search section on this forum, or asking a question or two.

We have also met many BT folk who have given us tips on the road (thanks folks) or lasting memories and stories that we are still laughing over.

Hope to see some of you on the road next year.

Till then happy trails,

Allan and Sharon

Greetings to all you Boggers and your families, and our wish that you all should enjoy a merry and safe Christmas, and a happy and prosperous New Year.

We are currently in Albany about to commence heading eastward.

Probably be spending Christmas somewhere on the Nullarbor.
