I have been using the POI in my Garmin Nuvi and it has been helpful with our choice of independent camping.

For those with a GPS such as a Garmin that accepts a SD card, there are free mapping programs such as Shonky Maps & Tracks4Aust that are very good on their own or when used in conjunction as Navigator maps.
