Hi All,
Could someone advise me if a 1000lb Hayman Reece WD Hitch would be suitable for towing a 20ft BT
with a 200 seriies cruiser . I realise that this is overkill but what if any are the pit falls .
I would appreciate any advice anyone can offer. The reason for the question is that i Live in Townsville and there is no 750lbs in stock up here only 550lbs.There is a 1000lb available but i wont buy if not suitable.

Do you mean 1000lb or 100kg. The normal one fitted by BT is 750kg.

Woops meant to write 1000kg. If you are thinking of 1000lb this is only 450 kg.

Hi Toga The Mist
The 3 grades of bars sold by Hayman Reece are 500lbs, 750lbs and1000lbs---in the old measure! The one fitted by BT is 750lbs because HR recommend in their product guides a ball weight in the range 250kg to 340kg for that size. Caravan companies generally fit 500lb. bars because that is recommended for ball weights of 130kg to 250 kg. Although you will be at the upper end of the range with your BT, I think you are right in saying that it would be overkill. You may also find that 1000lb bars give you much reduced ground clearance at their extremities.
Hope this helps your decision.
