Great, next time we are in Rocky we MUST have a look, OK, did you hear about the BT that stopped in front of a well known framing shop in Allenstown a couple of weeks ago also?

What weight will it come in at?

WOW!! We come in close to 6T GCM!!!! Do ya reckon your Mrs. will drive it? I have driven ours a couple of times (the "grey" component of out nomadic relationship has a Truck licence , so I'm in constant training) I would encourage her to at least "have a go". I will email you a couple of funny situations we found me in...........blush. Have made a pact to take it away at least once a month...so far, so good. :-)

Yeh, sorry surfy53 we were on a tight time line [only on that day], family in Rocky etc before booking into a caravan park in Yappoon , it is not often we are in a park even with our last van
and camper trailers in the past, once or twice a year at most, we felt spoiled, BUT, another time for that story .

Anyway, could not give up the chance to tease you guys, pull up, wave and on our way.

1980kg... You would have to keep looking in the mirrors to see if it's still there, unlike our beast [but we love it] you know it's there.

Yes, we took delivery on 13th May. Started at BT at 7am and never got away until 4.45pm. Long, long day it was.
Fay videoed the whole event and a godsend that was, I still refer back to the video for the things I have forgotten.
Had two nights at Forrest Glen sorting and stowing everything we bought down with us. Then off to Woolgoolga to catch up with friends and their van. A few days there and Red Rock then back to Brissy for a few days then to BT for the 1000km service and home to Rocky.

Tow vehicle was a 2003 Prado Turbo Diesel, this is suited to the van.
However..........on the tar was OK, or nearly OK. Very slow on the hills around Ballina, 2nd gear at 30kph and slowing. A bit of jerking but that was the suspension settling in, but heavy on my back.....if you know what I mean. The car needed more grunt. If you were only tripping around for say 4-6 weeks a year then the Prado will do the job but might be harder on dirt and in the sand.

Soooo.......have just purchased a new Land Cruiser Twin Turbo V8 Diesel and pick it up on Friday.
The reason for the upgrade was to make us feel more confident while towing, and for safety reasons. We both feel allot better since we made the decision to step up. We are newbies and we are learning real fast.

The van.........well.......it's a BT......what else can you say.

Off on the 16th June and heading west, got 5 mths so we will be looking out for you all.

Chris.

Congratulations on eventually getting your BT I know you will enjoy each trip you do just as we have since 2001 when we took delivery of the 1st, now on our 2nd.
Also think you have got what I think is a very good tug, ours is now 2 years old and sometimes I have to check the BT is still following.

Next week we are off again, heading for Kakadu, Darwin and Kimberleys thru Bourke, Charlieville, Longreach, Cammoweal and into the N.T. Anyway enjoy the BT life and if you should catch us any time come and say GIDDAY.

Cheers.
