Batteries, GRT AGM or German Gel-Cells

GRT AGM = $45; German Gel-Cells = $650.
Does anyone have the German batteries and are they worth the difference in price?
Being the electrical pigs that we are and have always been :), we are probably going with 5 batteries and 5 panels along with the 50 am charger.
What has been the general experience with either the GRT AGM or the German Gel-Cells?
